I haven't encountered any other post with the same issue as mine, only some similar, and their solution did not work for me.
google maps generally works on my phone. only that it slows down if I use it for more than 10-15 min straight and it also crashes if I tell it to look for directions and then click on see map. with no error message at all.
anyone knows what to do?
some technical info:
Device: Nokia 5800
Carrier: Orange IL
Country / Language: Currently English but has language code 08
OS / build number: V 50.0.005.C02.01
Type: RM-356
It looks like a memoryproblem . When the device memory C: is fully loaded it could crash .
Start with deleting the GMaps cache : in Gmaps goto Options > Settings > Restore GMaps . This can clear quite some space .
On AAS there is a lot of information about memory and (lack) of space . Many items are found in the N97 forum . Here an example :

In the third party Applicationmanager JBak Taskman , there is a setting to monitor the different memories in a liitle bar .

I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you if it helped me, but it does make sense because the first time it happened I had an error message regarding space issues.
I'll give it a shot and I'll post again to let you know.
tnx
