New P800 sync 1.3.1 from SE unable to download

I can't download it either.

It seems that they are in the process of updating the web server. Refreshing constantly changes the version numbers of the offered PC Suite. Hopefully in a few hours it stabilizes ...

American English now works...italian (that's the version I want) not yet...

Release 1.3.1 of PC Suite for P800 (identical to P800 CD1 1.3.0) is intended as an upgrade from release 1.0.0 (Limited Launch) or 1.1.0 (Ready To Launch).

After an upgrade from 1.0.0 the synchronization may not work at once. If the error message 'Folder/section cannot be opened' is shown use the following solution:

1. Start the sync settings dialog from system tray or from Start menu: Start/Programs/Sony Ericsson/P800/Sync Settings.
2. Verify that the settings are correct and press OK.

This will update the sync database and make it possible to sync with the new version.

Well, we have all been able to read this for the last couple of days, but SE's site is a total mess. Missing files, broken packages, broken links...

Read elsewhere that those who installed this upgrade lost their outlook contacts. BE SURE TO BACKUP!

And installation can only be OVER version 1.1.1

I installed it on my PC wich just came from a cold installation and it works fine. I dont think this is just an upgrade but an installer for the entire program. I have yet to try to overlap it on my existing one on my laptop.. will post results, and yes I will not forget to backup, thanks! 😊

I've downloaded it and installed it. It's better than the 1.1, and even faster.

I keep getting "Another program has been installed/uninstalled since the last reboot. Reboot your computer to complete the previous installation/uninstallation before running this setup"

I have of course rebooted as requested.

I have tried uninstalling 1.1.0 rebooting then installing 1.3.1 - no luck
I then re-installed 1.1.0 (from disk supplied with P800) and installation OK. Rebooted.
Tried installing 1.3.1 over 1.1.0 with no luck - still the same message. tried rebooting 3 times and then repeating above - same message.

Do I have a lingering file somewhere that I need to get rid of?

In my office I had to uninstall both PC sync v1.1.0 and image editor to get rid of the message. But the new software failed to sync with Outlook 2000, so I went back to 1.1.
At home I LOST 2 hours trying to uninstall and reinstall...the fact is that both PC sync and Image editor install the "Connection monitor"-tool. I first uninstalled PC sync, and the uninstall routine removed the tool too! The problem is that Image Editor's uninstall routine then doesn't find this damned tool and so stops the uninstall progress. And guess what? As the uninstall process wasn't completed I continue to get the error message! No problems installing version 1.1 again.

The result is that both my computers still run version 1.1...well done SE!

did anyone manage to get this working?
i have just downloaded it and trying to install over the old version and it is just sat at 0% complete for about half an hour now

I have a support log with SE which has been bounced around inside SE but am still waiting for a reply. In the meantime I'm still using 1.1.0
