Forum Nokia, Nokia's developer portal, has unveiled a new look for its website. The structure of the site has changed; it is now divided into three key areas: design, develop and distribute - matching the three key parts of mobile application and service development. The website aims to provide access to a wide range of learning resources, tools and technical documents. However there's also an emphasis on helping developers connect with each other, which is achieved through the community section of the site.

Apple announced iPhone 4, Samsung announced Gallaxy S (android), Symbian/Nokia annouced a website refresh for developers?? There is nothing on allaboutsymbian that is remotely exciting, today or for the past week. That said it all about the future of Symbian...follow the foot step of Psion....sadly.
Guess you can't be exciting every week 😊
Rather depends on your definition of exciting doesn't as well? Nokia announced the Cseries devices last week which will no doubt sell more than any individual smartphone.
Not to mention that Engadget (of all tech-sites!) makes a comparison between the iPhone 4, Nokia N8, Evo 4G, Pre Plus and HD2, and guess what comes out with most wins?

Exactly. Engadget are both American (don't understand the mobile market outside the US, and don't understand Nokia, or Symbian, and have pro-US bias against them both) and known Nokia-haters. And yet in their comparison, N8 comes out on top because they did a simple factual analysis. The truth always wins out.
Oh, and please show me what Apple and Samsung announced in the week the N8 was revealed?
Trolls. Plaguing the internet since the 70's 😊

Follow the footsteps of Psion huh..Did you actually dream about that? Would you mind telling the whole world in how many months or years that would happen so that I can quote you properly when the said time comes? And the Engadget comparison left out a few others such as USB otg, Dolby surround sound, not to mention PRICE!!! Now mind listing down the features of the Galaxy S that's better than the N8? Stop talking crap and show some facts!!!
Excellent new site at Forum Nokia. As a mobile (J2ME, Symbian, mobile web) and web (LAMP(hp)) software developer I'd say the new site is way better than before, and on a par with Android and iPhone development offerings (much as the iFanBoyz will not like this being said 😉 ). Thanks Nokia, good work.
I am the one who posted a comment on no exciting news on the allaboutsymbian site. I came back to this site to see if there were other posts commenting on it. Thanks for pointing me to N8. You guys are right. It looks great. Its exciting. The fact that I hadn't heard about N8 and didn't notice any N8 news from my quick glance of the site demonstrated couple points.
One can say I am blind, or we can say the design of this site doesn't generate buzz, grap attention of the great news.
Any news, big or small are posted in the same way here. Today we have one about Nokia cutting CO2 by 12%. Add to the news of a developer website looks and feel refresh? Some hotel you can booked through OVI map??? I am a gadget man. I care dearly about the evironment, love 5 stars hotel, but that's not why I check this site regularly. When I see minor news like that getting published here, my would think there are no other bigger news around. They are distraction to what I am looking for.
I also check cnet regularly. Go have a look there today. The first thing it show is an hugh hugh glossy iphone4 catchy looking graphic. iphone4 is there headline news for the week. Other minor news are there too but they don't stand out and distract. That's buzz generation, that's getting people excited about their top story.
I notice there is a hugh blank space next to All about Symbian logo. That can be used to promote your top story? Consider a top story of the week section? Just my 2 cents worth. If you can't tell, I am actually a Symbian fan....long from Psion days.
One more point Rafe. You refer to the cseries announced last week. I can't see any mentioning of cseries anywhere on your home page. And still don't know what it is. I can't be bother to dig around your site. I imagine it is a few days old news and so I get pushed back? I think I am a typical internet surfer. If cseries is going to out sales all other smart phone, that news deserve more staying time, big icon, big fonts, big whatever. I visit this site once couple week, and I know nothing about cseries. I do know nokia cut COP2 by 12% which surely is not what you want to tell me, if you ask you in person, "what's happening in Symbian?". That'ts my point.
