Well, that's a turn up for the books!!
Come tomorrow, I will be the owner of a shiny new unbranded X6 32GB "Comes With Music" device, courtesy of Nokia themselves! Recently, I put myself forward to be selected to take part in the Nokia Music Boot Camp and would you believe it, I got chosen!
So I get a brand new X6 32GB with 1 year's CWM service. The only catch is that for the first 30 days, twice a day, I have to post something on Facebook about some new music I've discovered or old music I've rediscovered using the CWM service! Being as I listen to shed loads of music everyday, and am a bit of a social networking whore, I guess I was the ideal candidate! LOL
ANYWAY!! One of the main reasons I signed up for this was to get a new handset. I have come so close over the last year to throwing my N97 at something hard and unforgiving. Never have I been so frustrated with a Nokia device. Yes, I had the lens/GPS issue. Yes, I got it replaced, only for the GPS to start failing again two months ago. Yes, I have to reboot and reset my device every couple of months because something goes squiffy or my RAM usage hits the point where things just grind to a halt. It's incredibly sad, especially for a hardcore Nokia fanboy like me.
To further drive the stake through my heart, my N97 was acquired on a 24 month contract, which I took out with 3 months remaining on my existing contract, meaning that, save for winning the lottery, I was lumbered with it till November 2011 😞
Or so I thought! On Wednesday, I got the email to tell me I had been selected as one of only 20 people around the world to participate in the Boot Camp and my X6 was posted today!
So, I am looking forward to having my faith in Nokia restored somewhat but wanted to hear first hand stories from my trusted colleagues here at AAS about their experiences with the X6 32GB, especially from those who've made the same transition.
Am I gonna lose a heap of functionality? Is the user experience better or worse? What things can't I do on the X6 that I could on the N97?
C'mon guys, hit me up with your experiences 😊
Thanks in advance 😊
