Can we install/use tomtom on the X6??? If so which tomtom software should I be after and is it easy to install?

Thanks

Indeed. And the fact that TomTom stopped developing for Symbian years ago (last version was for S60 3rd Ed.) and it couldn't even address the internal GPS without having the firmware cracked.

Ovi Maps is on a par with most standalone TomTom's, it's 100% free for life and specifically designed for your Nokia 😊

Nokia X6 16GB + iGo Bluetooth Keyboard + GPS Receiver = Working Tomtom v6.01

Notes,
My Nokia X6 is debranded and firmware upgraded to v20.0.05

After trawling many forums looking for answers to "Does Tomtom work on Nokia X6?", the answer is definately YES!, but there is a hitch - you need a bluetooth keyboard and a seperate bluetooth GPS receiver.

I also used a bit of software called "Freesigner" for unsigning and resigning the TT.sisx which was already BinPDA'd, you will need your own .cer and .key to make Freesigner work correctly, you will need to apply for your own .cers and .key certs. Find Freesigner and you will find guides on "how to".

Once you have signed your Tomtom sisx, you can then install it.

In summary, TT does install/run but is completely impractical for everyday use, unless you want your car dash to resemble Knightrider!

I didn't write this up in order to be asked a load of questions, i did it for nothing other reason than to answer a common question - "Does Tomtom work on the Nokia X6?"

The answer, Yes - kind of 😊

My 2c. Best free Satnav = Ovi Maps (but take the time to download the maps and store locally.

Best paid Satnav = GarminXT.

Best (paid) off the road maps = Viewranger.

All that to use a version of TomTom that is so out of date, with maps that are so out of date, that can't use the internal GPS, requires cracking/hacking (something heavily forbidden in this parish) and extra hardware... 🙄

Why anyone would even want to try this is quite beyond me. Extra effort, extra outlay, when Nokia provide a vastly superior product, that works, for free.

Bonkers 😉
