The Top Ten List of Top Ten Lists we're (ahem) not going to cover...

Ewan and I have a rule of thumb, that 95% of content in every mobile app store is complete rubbish, without significant merit. But, rather than dismiss this 95% en-bloc, or one at a time, we thought we'd do better to dismiss some of the worst offenders category by category, so that you can spot future offenders yourself more easily in future. The traditional way is to handle software roundups is to go for a Top Ten list. But, by way of something slightly different, here's some coverage of the Top Ten Lists we won't be compiling... naturally itself in the form of a (somewhat recursive) Top Ten List!

RSS Based Apps like the Phones Show Widget?
Just kidding.

I have to disagree with your number 10. The Black Pro Theme by PiZero is awesome and I'm glad I paid for it.
It's tested really well and he fixes any issues really fast.

I'd like to talk about the extention to the World Cup Rubbish. I noticed that a number of sports web sites advertise apps for various phones. None are available for Symbian. I was disappointed. Then, I realised that these web sites have a mobile version of their web site. If they have a mobile version of the web site, why make an app? What is it about having an app that cannot also be done with their mobile site that is worth making an app for every type of phone out there?

stuntman, what you say is also what Steve published in an article about a few days ago. And I completely agree with you. Some of these mobile site apps make no sense whatsoever.

Couldn't have said any of this better myself.

Now if someone over at OviStore could just consider this and 'clean out the clutter' then once again, the world would be in perfect balance.

Hahahahahaha! Penalties! Hahahahaha! Oh wow, that made my day. That shower of gits wouldn't have been good enough to get to penalties against Vanuatu, let alone Germany.
