The Nokia N97 gets v22 firmware

new nokia maps is not included with v22. You still have to run software update to get the most recent and I can tell you that this new firwmare is actually a little heavier on the use of C drive. The reason why think it's included when it really it really isn't is because you never reset your phone after the firmware update. If you do a factory format, you'll see that OVI Maps was not one of the things that was changed with this firmware.

I have an N97 with code 0586299 running v21.0.045 and a N97 mini with code 0591536 running v10.0.020 and the OTA update shows they are running the latest versions.

How can I apply the latest software?

Thank you.

I liked that the update was seamless and over the air.

The music player is still bugged. Hitting Back exits to the homescreen.
Podcasts do not support album art.

The browser version is still the old one. What gives? The other Nokia S60v5 phones have already moved to v7.2. My mini is still stuck on v7.1.4 after the update...😡

You're wrong. Maps 3.3 IS included. I went to the effort of TRIPLE checking.

3.4, as I reported, is offered in Sw update, for those who want Qype and other recent additions.

I have found a bug of displaying number in 'Log' application. If the number is 11 digits long, sometimes it show only 10 digits. The first digit is not shown. To clarify more, my country always start phone number with 0 and this 0 sometimes does not show. The example of number is 0277-xxx-xxxx and it just shows 277-xxx-xxxx. Making a call to 277-xxx-xxxx is also not possible and prompt an error message 'Invalid phone number'.

Hopefully this message will reach bug fixing team. As I cannot find proper place to report bugs.

Thanks

It could well be me being dumb, but I iSync now claims it can no longer sync with the device. I've hard reset it and rebooted my Mac, and tried to add the new device but it still refuses... Anyone else had similar?

Greetings from Greece! I've had a N97 mini for a few months now and I am dealing with a couple of unfortunate issues..."Security module" error and whatever else makes phone apps not to launch or launch in the background causing "not enough memory" messages to pop up and the phone to restart(frequently). The phone is still on firmware v.10.0.02 and there is no sign of v12 not to mention v.11. The worst is that it doesn't fully recognise the Greek language in sms so a message of approx. 60 characters is considered full and a bigger is sent as 2 messages.
How long might it take for an update to come out for all product codes? Should I keep hoping or might I forget about it anyway? 😊
Thanks in advance!

Too impatient to wait for my unbranded, SIM free UK variant N97 Mini to be let in the club, so I changed my product code to EURO1 cherry black, via NSS, voided my waranty and got the new version using NSU (not available yet by OTA) and.........can't find anything obvious. I'm sure there's something worthwhile in there somewhere.

Still no update for N97 mini 0591466 as far as I can see. Anyone with this product code managed to update yet?

That's a UK Country Variant, which means the firmware needs to be approved by Nokia UK before release, this usually takes anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

Nokia's UK sim free handsets usually have to wait to get firmware updates, your better off changing to a euro1 product code, it has identical features and languages to the UK variant.

The question is not what we need to do in order to enjoy services provided by Nokia to it's customers.

The question is why do we need to hack our devices and void warranties in order to be able to get fixes for products we paid for, cause the manufacturer has us deep in the... lack of respect?

Nokia n97 gets v22 firmware,The Nokia N97 'classic' was updated today, to firmware version 22.0.110, available right now Over The Air, as a 5MB download. The previous firmware version was v21.0.102. Version 22 is a significant update because it includes Ovi Maps 3.3 with the free navigation, saving the user from having to use up 10MB+ of the precious system disk C: for this. More below.

i have 2 devices, a car kit and a headset.

when connected to either the n97 no longer sends the audio to the connected device automatically. (thats with a call made from the device or the handset - or recieved)

Nokia are a complete waste of space...
