Damian Dinning, as promised, has put up the second part of his tech/examples series on the Nokia N8's camera, over on the Conversations blog. This time, he concentrates on the video capture side of things and, as before, we've summarised his main points below.
Read on in the full article.
FYI Damian confirmed DivX playback in the comments 😊
"12Mbps is a LOT. For comparison, commercial DVDs usually hover in the 6Mbps region."
Apples to oranges.
Nokia's video is 1280 x 720. DVD is 720 x 576 (PAL, NTSC has lower vertical resolution)
Nokia's video is MPEG4. DVD is MPEG2.
AVCHD (H.264) typical bitrates in consumer cameras is around 17Mbps and can go as high as 25Mbps. For an apples to apple's 😊 comparison the iPhone 4 does 10Mbps for the same resolution as the N8.
n8 had some great specs compared to iphone , htc. even n97 also had great spec compared to previous iphone model
but it fail utterly even though iam not taking about ui but it is clear n8 carries some gorgeous failed feautures of n97 like memory full msgs , same n97 looking ui , very little ram , slow processor
already n97 owners got punches form last one and half year please i beg nokia not release n8 untill it solves all major issues
The camera on Galaxy S isn't good at all.
with hardware sufficient to provide Noise Reduction during video recording, why no active noise reduction during calls? iphone and nexus 1 has them why not on the n8 which is much newer...
