Flashing the phone at home

Not too sure if these questions had been asked before but I guess I'm one of those desperate 3650 users who is holding a v1.34 firmware and needs the upgrade. The company that provides me the warranty is not giving me a good support and therefore I'm enquiring about it from the net and hopefully do it myself over here.

Would be helpful if someone may provide some information:-

1) What dongle and software do we need to flash the phone and upgrade the firmware ? Where to buy ?
2) If I have another unit of 3650 with v2.5, can I download the firmware from the phone and upload it onto mine ?
3) Can these Symbian phones be flashed with SIS files ?

Thanks.

hi,

u cant download the flashes. u need a high priced dongle 4 that. then u get the problem that every firmware version is illegal on the net and every firmwar have 38mb to download it.

p.s.: u cant flash ur phones with sis files

I guess I had found a solution - Flashing it in Singapore itself. They are charging me a sum of S$40 to S$60 (About USD$20 to $USD30) but I guess if the service is fast, professional and on top of that I do not have to take leave to do it (Opens from 11am to 9pm) then I guess it's well worth it
