N86 Memory Card Lost All Messages

Hi,

I get the feeling its my fault, but could someone confirm this...

Last night I was reading a text message when all of a sudden I got a message along the lines of Memory Card no found (can't remember exactly what it said) and eveything disappeared (I have a folder structure to save things in etc) and I lost approximately 200+ sms/mms etc.

I then got a further message when I went into the options to re-instate the memory card as the storage location.

By the way, nothing else has been lost, just all my sms/mms.

Now when it came back on I got the message do you want to copy your existing messages (assuming this was to re-instate all my memory card messages I clicked yes).

Looking back, I did have this before but can't remember what I pressed.

Now, as I clicked yes, am I write in thinking that I have now overwritten everyhting I had saved, with 1 crappy original nokia message from when I first ever switched the phone on???

If I have, has anyone any suggested programmes I could use on how to retrieve my stuff (if at all possible).

An from now on I really ought to think about backing this thing up...

Up till now I have never had any problems with it and love the phone, but I can't help think that this is an error that was easily avoided if a more meaningful message came up.

Thanks in advance
