Are there several different types of these screen and does anyone know how to get the one which works with my phone?
I've tried an MP1.3 labelled one and this appears to work except the backlight doesn't come on therefore rendering it useless.
I've also tried an MP1.0 labelled screen and the backlight works but the screen looks like
The back of my current screen is labelled (please note this may not be all of it as some is smudged out)

hi yes the 2 screens are not compatible you must get the correct mp1.0 or mp1.3 , the picture you are displaying looks like a faulty screen to me . can you tell me where you bought the mp1.3 screen as i am having a lot of difficulty finding one , or perhaps you can message me and i will buy the mp1.3 screen from you thanks .
Sorry for the late reply, I'm not normally this slow but I've on holiday. I don't have the MP1.3 screen anymore as I returned it for a refund.
It was however this item from Ebay. I tried 3 from the same seller and they were all the same on mine (screen worked but back-light didn't). Since this happened the seller has updated his items to remove N96 from the compatibility list, it might be worth checking with him.
I tried two MP1.0 screens (admittedly from the same seller) and they were both as shown above. If the Mp1.0 screen should work with my phone then I'm not convinced yet that the seller didn't just return the same screen to me. In any case after trying 5 screens I was getting a bit fed up so came on here to do some research and have sent my phone back to T Mobile to see what they can do under warranty.
