1. When keylock is enabled - you must press 3 keys (?, OK, *) to free normal functions like making a call.

But, if you open the flip, you are free to use any function. The funny thing is that, after the flip is closed, the keylock is still on, you still have to press ?, OK, * to free it.

Keylock is a needed feature. But, can we not simplify the reactivation by just pressing OK * ?

2. When keylock is enabled - if you press power off, you have to free the key lock first . What is the logic ?

1.) You only have to press 2 keys, which is ok and *. You are probably not hitting the first ok properely. I dont really know which is ? key but all I knw is you dont have to press it.

The reasont that It auto-locks when closing the flip is a very good function for me because when I close the flip it usually means Im done using the phone. If I wanted to text thru the key pad I would have unlocked it and did whatever I had too the lock it after. I dont see myself opening the flip then closing it and using it right after.

2.)Yes you have to unlock to turn it off. This is also a very useful function since you are protected from accidently switching your phone off.

maybe he's refering to the phone when it's in powersave mode wherein you have to press any key to wake it up then press OK then *.

yes, i-ball is right. I have my powersave on normally.

Instead of pressing ? Scroll the jog-dial when you pick up the phone. This way, you only have to press 2 keys: OK + *

😊

Salve!

Well, only one key is sufficient (at its minimum) to unlock the keys.
If the phone is in powersave mode scroll or push the jog-dial to wake
it up. Then, if key-lock is enabled, push the jog-dail! This is
equivalent in pressing 'OK'. Then you only have to press '*' to
disable the key-lock.

My wish: it would be good to just have to push in the jog dail to unlock.

😃

Hi Guest!

To press the jog-dail only once wouldn't be a 'nice' solution.
A 'nice' solution is one where you press the jog-dail once and
then moving it up and down, quickly. This solution is 'nice' in
the following sense:

Definition:
A solution to the 'unlock keys' problem of the P800 is called 'nice'
if it satisfy the following properties.

(1) secure
(2) don't have to touch the screen
(3) aligned to thumb (lefthand)
(4) fast

Obviously, your solution lacks property (1), so its not a 'nice'
solution. But, I guess, there are more then only one 'nice' solution.
