I have an old Nokia E61 phone which I got from my friend in Mumbai. It was working fine in Mumbai, but as soon as I reached Delhi and put an Airtel sim into it, it stopped sending/recieving any messages.
I have checked and updated the message center number also but still the messages aren't working. Is it a problem with the software or am I missing out something?
I have put the airtel message center number +919810051914. But it doesnt work.
I have also tried hard resetting the cellphone using *#7370#. No go.
The firmware version in the phone is also the latest.
Surprising that when I put the airtel sim in another of my handsets, messages work perfect. Can someone help with this?
Is your Phone locked to a Network of another provider ?
In case it isn't , why not ask Airtel for the right settings ?

Well, I have the correct message center settings for the sms coz as I said, if I put the same sim in another cellphone, the messages work perfect.
I dont think the phone is locked to another provider since I am able to make and receive calls.
Please help
When you think it can be a software corruption , you could try the Vulcan Death Grip , preferably multiple times , see my post here :

Or reflash the firmware of the device .
It's recommended not to restore the settings from backup , but freshly put them in manually . As in settings could be corruption .
