Hello!

I've been reading this forum for some time, and thought I'd join and contribute. I've had an N97 Mini since Jan, bought SIM Free and used on my UK Three Contract.

I have to report that, apart from some minor irritations (and the usual moans about the quality of signal from my provider) I'm really happy with the phone! My wife has an HTC phone, and I don't find that my Nokia is inferior at all. The Symbian software has its odd ways, but so does Android, and the HTC does things that I find irritating... She also uses an iPod touch, and it drives me to distraction. It's only selling point that I can find is that there is some top quality software available for the iPhone.

I do wish that Nokia's browser was more like Opera Mobile (but then, I've tried Opera and can't get the text to wrap and fit on the screen when I enlarge the font), and the Messaging program handled e-mails better (and I've tried some other programs including Emoze and Gmail, and have returned to the native client because it is integrated with the phone and the Homescreen widgets more).

My biggest gripe is actually with the way that everyone makes Apps for the iPhone, but no-one seems to be doing anything for Symbian. For example. I want to edit Google Docs on the phone, but QuickOffice haven't extended their Connect product for Symbian yet. I resent the way that there is "an app for that", but not for MY phone...!

Anyway, before I try to fix the minor quibbles by asking for advice from readers of this forum, I thought I'd register my happiness with my phone - no crashes, no resets, no "that's it, Nokia, I'm getting an Android next"! I can't imagine wanting to replace my N97 Mini for some time.

There have been a few posters on this forum who have been more than happy with their N97 / N97 Mini's, so there is proof out there that the phone does do what Nokia intended it to.

Sadly, for me the experience was not positive, and I was totally underwhelmed by it , I tried my best for about 10 months, but in the end, was just not happy with it. I am now onto my second E72 ( gave the first one to my daughter ) and have to say, am more than happy with it, especially with free Ovi Maps.

THe N97 has put me off touch screen phones, and the E72 has consolidated that view. All the new phones hitting the market these days all seem to be Android based, so it will be interesting to see how Symbian reacts.

Glad your phone is working well, and long may it continue!
