E72 - Ringtones Question

I can't get the phone to recognise the mp3 tracks on the memory card when selecting ringtones - any ideas?

With the previous E72, this was fine, no problem. But with the new one ( same FW version ) when in Profiles and selecting ringtones, it only shows the standard ones that came with the phone - not all the tracks on the SD card. Music player shows all the tracks and songs, that all works fine, and images all load ok.

Ta.

In my older phone I get "Memory Full" message . There are too many tracks the phone has to cope with .
The workaround goes like this : copy or move the wanted file to the device memory . Withdraw the memorycard and try again .

In my N97, I use the option songs not tones. Because the ring tone I am using is in MP3 format. Hope this helps.

I can circumnavigate the problem, but that isn't really the issue - I wanted to know *why* the phone does not recognise the ringtones on the memory card. THe card itself works fine, there isn't an issue with that, the problem seems to be only in 'Profiles' in trying to get the phone to see all the music tracks.

To be honest, my ring tone is a default one anyway, I usually don't have a music track as a ringtone, but just want to phone to work properly...

Well, it started to work properly by itself yesterday. THe phone hung on me yesterday ( whilst signing out of Skype ) so re-booted.

Tried the Profiles, and ring tomes and all of a sudden, just like magic, it recognised all the music tracks on the memory card. Mind you, I still have 'Tinker' as the ring tone...
