Let me start by saying I know absolutely nothing about fixing phones, so I need the beginner version.
A few months ago I lost the charger for my N85. I started using a Samsung Mirco USB charger, which I guess destroyed the battery. I bought a new battery and everything was fine. I ordered a Nokia OEM charger off Amazon.com but it never came 😞 Then the other day, the same problem happened. My battery died and wouldnt recharge. I fiddled with it for awhile and was able to get the battery to charge a little bit. I turned on the phone and everything seemed to work. I got the message to enter my password to startup my phone. Instead of entering my password, I tried to power off my phone so I could just let the battery charge. It wouldnt power off so I removed the battery. Then I found it difficult to charge my battery again 😞
I was finally able to charge my battery enough to turn it on, but when I do, I get a message that says "Phone Start-up failed. Contact local retailer." I tried starting the phone without the SIM card, but I get the same message. I tried taking out the memory card, and that didn't work either.
What do I do?
