Will there be another firmware update?

I am just wondering if there will be another firmware update for the N97 or is it now the finished article as far as Nokia are concerned?

Yes, it has improved since it was first available, but it leaves a lot to be desired.
It is still slow and laggy compared with many other phones.

It does everything I want it to do, but slowly and still needs the odd reboot now and again.

I'm not that hopeful to be honest.

I'm not really after improved functionality just improved stability (V22 is quite good in this respect but still bit flaky - still shouldn't be possible for an individual app to crash the whole OS, should just dump the app out) but I would really like to see Maps 3.04 and the latest Messaging 10.2 included in the firmware which they weren't in V22 as I preserve C: space overriding all other considerations which has been my way of livinhg with it and keeping seemingly at least a bit stable.

I had hoped that this would happen for a V30 and after all mini owners although the device was more stable and better finished haven't had much love either and I would guess that Nokia had hoped to provide a bit more. But the problems getting S3 out the door and the problems on early s4 combined with the pretty thorough going slating S3 is getting in the press and hence their new policy of trying to get incremental improvements out as quickly as possible I thin k means there won't be the manpower to focus on such toxic and time consuming devices (especially the "Classic" with the requirement to get everything into firmware) as the N97's.

So yes I think we are pretty much on our own
