C7 Keep screen at full brightness?

Anyone have any idea how I can stop the screen from dimming after a few seconds?

I want to be able to keep the screen at full brightness sometimes. I have played around with the settings on Display but it still dims?

Hi SnaxMuppet

The display brightness varies according to ambient light level, as detected by the sensor above the display (immediately to the left of the secondary camera). We do this to keep power consumption low. According to the testing we've done the brightness is generally about right, but it's clearly a personal choice and it might not be quite right for you.

You can increase the general brightness (Settings; Phone; Display; Lightsensor) by moving the slider to the right. The brightness will continue to vary according to the ambient light, but it will be at a nominally brighter level. Depending on your usage pattern, you may see some reduction in battery life. Try adjusting it to see if this improves it for you.

Thanks Tim but it isn't the general display brightness that I am talking about.

It is the light time-out setting. The longest the display can remain at full brightness is 60 seconds... I want it at full brightness all the time sometimes... using maps, reading books, showing people things such as photos etc. After 60 secs the screen dims and I have to tap the screen to get full brightnss back.

no changes for that though

except in Maps, in the Maps settings you have the option for backlight to be always on, not Optimised

Especially to switch off the light-sensor. It's an issue, for sure. The display is always too dark indoors and you have to turn the phone to a bright light-source to make it brighter - annoying. My old 5800 does a much better job with it's fixed brightness-level. Are there any changes known for that, maybe coming up with the next update ?

there's an app floating around somewhere that does this, overrides default light settings just gotta find it. it's called Light Control, v1.51
