Has anyone else managed to accidentally delete an entire conversation with someone on their Symbian3 phone? I think it's far too easy to do this, I deleted about 150 sms messages between me and my Girlfriend accidentally when I put my phone in my pocket unlocked. Just 2 key presses and it's deleted. Had this just been a single SMS then that would be fine but for a large chunk of content 2 presses seems a bit dangerous.
Conversations too easy to delete?
back up your messages via ovi suite, then you can restore if this happens again
I do, but it just seems far too easy to accidentally delete a whole bunch of messages.

The moral of this story is... make sure your phone is locked!
"I put my phone in my pocket unlocked. Just 2 key presses and it's deleted."
I don't think I want to know what you were doing in your pocket to get those two key presses!
It is normally locked. I'm not sure exactly what happened to be honest. All I know is I received a text from my girlfriend while in the car, opened it but didn't get a chance to read it as the lights changed and next time I look at my phone every message between us has disappeared/been deleted.
Is this a serious complaint?
Unbelievable!

A serious complaint? Good God no, not at all, you must have misread. If I had a serious complaint I'd speak to the police or my local M.P. 🙄 This is a forum about mobile phones where members of the public can comment on issues and observations regarding mobile phones. My comment is that it is far to easy to accidentally delete all your messages (in this case about 150) from a specific person. If you wanted to delete all of your contacts then you would have to confirm this is the case by typing in your pin code. In the absence of a recycle bin type function, I suggest that something similar be added to the conversations option. Some of us have text messages that are more important to us than yours would appear to be.
as for me, i find that having to click twice to delete a conversation is rather cumbersome.....

I think this is a valid point. A batch DELETE should always be prompted. It is far too easy to touch the TRASH icon. In fact the TRASH icon should be changed to a [HIDE] icon. Then use DELETE in a long press option.
I believe Delete option should be long press only for conversations.
It would be too cumbersome to delete individual msgs with a long press.

Yes definitely, conversations is the bit I believe has the problem. 2 taps and you can accidentally delete hundreds of important messages.
