Well the time has come to finally get rid of my N97. What a love-hate relationship it has been!
I'll be soon selling it on Ebay and wanted to know the best way of totally wiping leaving the less trace of my data as possible.

Format the mass storage memory then complete a full factory reset.
I find this is best to reset....Switch the phone off, then hold together: Left shift, space, backspace (delete) and the power button..
Hold all four buttons in place until the handshake shows
Perform a hard reset...
