Hi,
New to the 7650, how can i change the view in my contacts from surname first to first name first?
thanks.

Hi, Welcome aboard the 7650 wagon, fast moving at that to!
You need a program called "Nameswap", you install it to the phone and it automatically changes your names around for you. Try searching for it or give me your email and I'll send it to you, it's freeware so I won't get into trouble for saying that (I hope?).
The way I do it is to literally change the "Label" under which the name is, but the small program is better and easier.

you can use a freeware program called nameswap. Also once you've done that, the best way to maintain the format on new contacts is to put the first name in the "surname" box, and vice versa.

No worries Paul, just shows we're on the ball 😊
Eases my mind that I told it right to.....phew.
I have tried nameswap but never kept it on the phone, I just alter the labels but then when a call comes in the name is the opposite way around.
Might just have to install it again. I did hear a piece saying nameswap helps manage the size of the contacts, is this true or am I getting confused? I know Stacker does but I'm just curious.
Ian

If you don't have Stacker 3.0 (or the latest SDoubler) then NameSwap is a good tool to defrag your contacts database. Just swap all names and then back again - now your contacts db is compressed...

Oh it does help manage them then, thats good to know. Will try installing it now I think after making a note of the contacts size.
At the moment I'm using Space Doubler V1.5 but also have Stacker V3 which I have been reluctant to try as SD seems to do the trick. I've seen the threads regarding voting, is Stacker now the best one to use? From what I've read earlier versions weren't as good as SD but S-V3 sounds as if it is now top of the tree.
Its also a pain when you remove SD and all the folders/icons get messed up.
