Stange Sync problem - Any ideas ?

To asnwer my own question :
SE Tech / Data suppport state that according to the Knowledge base this is a know problem with no known fix.
They suggest I install PCSuiteForP800_rel_1.3.1_AE.exe instead of the _EN_ version I tried earlier.
Will keep you posted.
Sorry if this has been discussed before. I did look back through the forum postings and could not see this mentioned previously.

I had the same problem with Win 2k Service Pack 2 (and also Win XP Home). Strangely, on my Win 2k office PC, after I tried a sync while logged in as administrator, Outlook 2000 calendar managed to sync with my P800 subsequently. Works fine now even logged in as a non-administrator. I have no clue why it worked but I'll just let it be.

I know it's bad form, but I'll answer my question.

Problem syncing Outlook calendar cured by making Outlook the default email program from within IE. Bit of a bind especially as I use Turnpike and not Outlook for all me email.
Called SE tech/data support to advise them that this was the cure to the knowledge base notice saying "no fix available" ,feeling chuffed with myself, only to have my call taken by a different engineer who said, "Yes we know about this fix and I've already explained this to several callers today !"
I suggested that he has their knowledge base updated then so twhen the next person to come across this problem doesn't do like I did and spend hours uninstalling and reinstallling different versions of sync software.
Oh well they're only human 😃

I've solved the same problem by renaming with a short name the profile name of outlook. Right click on outlook icon on desktp, profiles and rename your standard profile woth a short name ... good luck
