just wanna know something.... how long does it normally take u guys to transfer a video clip that is about 2.2mb from ur pc to ur 3650 via infra red?
it took me about 30 minutes.. was it supposed to be that long?
File transfer from PC to 3650 duration
It can take that long, if the reception is not at best. Try placing the phone really near the IR port. And check the settings in windows.
BT transfers are 2 - 4 times faster 😃
Use bluetooth.
With bluetooth I can transfer a 20mb video in less time than that 😮
Just do what I did - use the bosses credit card to buy it and say it's for company use!
Best 😊

Another method, which I use often, doesn't even involve opening PC Suite. If you have an MMC reader attached to the PC, just drag or paste the file into the MMC folders, then return the MMC to the phone. It's a pain to open the phone to do this, but still beats waiting for the file to be transferred via IR. 8)
30 mins? Wow.. thats odd? Are you sure its not your CPU which is slow at converting into .3gp format? Mine took about 20 to convert a 40meg AVI.
are you using pc suite to do that?
i m not.. cos my pc suite cannot detect the infra red port.. so im just tranferring the video like normal... is 30 minutes really tooo long?
invest in a bluetooth USB adapter if ur pc has a USB port, here in uk MAPLINS do em for 40 still i tihnk which aint bad... also just outa interest, in blue tooth adapters is there such a thing has high quality ones and low quality ones, if so how does it work?

There are 2 classes of BT's the difference is range.
class1 range is under 10m (3650/7650 phones have this)
class2 range is 100m.
More info:

o ok but does tht also make a difference on which adpater u buy or do they all work the same no matter wot?
nope. i think both devices have to be same class.
jeff.
ps. have you configured mRouter? u need it enabled before it works with IR/Bluetooth.
so as long as its a class 2 adapter it will work cos it says it compatible wit phones
No, all BT classes work together. It doesnt matter what class it is.
And if you have class2 BT you can still only connect to your phone inside
the 10m range.
mrouter says my infrared is connecting... and thats it.. and the icon is the green n blue one... so after that i opened pcsuite and the icon at the bottom right of the software says 'disconnected'... i wonder why
