Why are so many Programs only available for the N8 (and not C7/C6)

Hi,

is there a reason why many programs (I mostly looked for games, NFS Shift, Galaxy on Fire) are available only for the N8?.

I thought the games should run identical on the C7?? I could trick Ovi Store into letting me install Rollercoaster Extreme by using the send to mobile option in Ovi store when changing the setting to N8, but this doesn't work for the other mentioned games. I get a message Ovi Store down when trying to install, although it works for other programs?

Any Ideas how to change this, or to make Nokia support all their S^3 devices?

get in touch with devs and ask them to tick the box for c7 and c6-01 as well as n8

its all its a matter of from what ive read on aas

when they submit the app they have to submit what devices its for looks like alot are just submitting it as n8 apps

apparently you can tell ovi store that you've got an N8 and then it'll let you download to your phone. i haven't tried this yet, but don't see any reason why it shouldn't work...

how can you do that? I've looked around the app and can't figure that bit out.

as a future improvement to the ovi store, I'd like to see the devs just click a box "symbian 3". or just the specific features that they need "gps, motion sensor, touchscreen, etc". this would automagically work for current and future devices, without the dev having to do updates or resubmissions.

i'll try to remember to check it out for you tonight... i believe you can do it when you sync your phone to OVI suite on a computer. you can just specify via the computer that your phone is a C7. really, anything that works on an N8, app wise, should work on the C7 as they're both the same OS.

a good example of this is the Dorian e-reader, which the developers "warn" isn't tested on any ^3 devices other than the N8, but works perfectly fine on the C7. it's one of those things that i keep meaning to get around to but never quite find the time... i'll make the effort tonight.
