Okay, I've struggled with this and finally had to admit defeat, I admit I am dense. How do I use my contacts to drive Ovi Maps, so I can pick a contact and "Drive To" that location.
I used to have an N95 8GB and was pretty sure I could do that, but I have started to question my own memories.
I don't wish to have to log on to the ovi service every time I want to use my map feature.
I was really pleased to find it was free, but I now use ovi maps even less than before.
I fall on the forums mercy, tell me what is so obvious that I miss it every time.
From contacts, click on their address. it'll bring up an option "show on maps". that opens ovi maps at that destination, and then you can do whatever.
N8, with Ovi Maps latest beta.
Back again and with the new beta installed. However....
I seem to be following the instructions to the letter, but trying to get the maps back on my N8 is causing a bit of an issue.
I'm using Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23, I select the UK and it proceeds to try to download the maps, but I then get an "Internal error, maps encountered an unknown error, try again later"
Now is this a nokia map server download issue, or an issue on the phone itself, any thoughts?
Try following my instructions for downloading maps:-

Hope this helps. 😃
I've never bothered with Ovi Suite to load maps (not a windows user).
but with the new 3.06 beta of Maps, you can just download them directly on the phone. Maps -> Update -> Add new maps -> choose maps to install -> eat bacon -> after bacon you have the maps installed. Fini!
