P800 How good

P800 - 1 to 10 I'd rate mine 10. but it doesn't mean it's perfect in everyway.

I can't say much of the other 2. don't have them.

each fone has their own advantages & disadvantages.

P800 is a combo of fone+PDA, intelligent device though.

it has most of the feature that we wanted to.

nonetheless, N7650 still has the supreme camera image quality compare with P800. we must admit that fact.

I rate mine a 8.

I love it but the software needs improving.
I wish the p800 would have more choices in colors. Baby blue and mineral gray i dont really like...I want mine in black and silver 😃

Things get better with age i guess.

as I used both N7650 and P800 .. i would rather say ...... it depends on the user of the phone itself .....

N3650 - cool but a big bulky, provide more memory with MMCs ... targeted mainly for teenagers and youngsters (provide they can afford it)
rate 8/10

N7650 - also cool, mature design compare to N3650, lack of memory supports, targeted for more mature users, executives. (no MMCs supports may be purposely set to give way for N3650)
rate 8.5/10

P800 - Very Porsh looks, targeted at senior execs, managers better processing power, more like PDAs, perfect but plain, not for youngsters who like to be funky. Serious competitor of N7650.
rate 8.5/10

I rate this phones based on looks and suitability 😃 8)

let me be frank...ive used the 7650, the 9210, 9210i...& now i have the p800.
the order i would put the phones on are this way..
(no.1 is the best)

1. Nokia 9210
2. SE P800
3. Nokia 9210i
4. Nokia 7650

This i would rate taking ease of use, memory mapping etc into consideration, apps available etc.

I have not used the 3650, so i cannot comment. SORRY,somehow the dialpad does not appeal to me.

i have rated the 9210 over the p800 because , lets face it the p800 has a camera but its a very basic camera, not of much use...more like a gimmic, than functionality.
Whereas the 9210 is all functionality,it even has fax capability.
its a true all rounder.
Its like the Criciket world cup finals between india & australia....ONLY AUSTRALIA could have beaten AUSTRALIA. even though India was a strong team...but australia was stronger as a team as a whole.

The 9210i lacks the MMC but if you put one in...its much better that the 9210, but thats at an extra cost.

P800...now give it a 128MB Duo....then it will be no.1

more thought later..
cheers

Just to add to the above, I have had a look at the 7650 and it's crap IMHO.
I didn't like it at all.
I had a feel of the 3650, I might be getting this for my girlfriend. I'd get her a P800 but it's just too much at the moment after getting one for myself already.

and another this....

lets face it the p800 has a camera but its a very basic camera

You're right about the camera but I thought it was because of software? so this could still be improved with better software for it.

and another thing that everyone has heard about i'm sure, video capture.

I can't see any reason at all to rate the 7650 anywhere near as highly as the P800. The P800 does way more than the 7650 - the 7650 doesn't even allow you to use bluetooth headsets for one thing; and you'll run out of memory REALLY quickly. There's a reason why there's that big ad at the top of your screen for Space Doubler 😊

The one thing about the 7650 that IS an advantage is the fact that it has the buttons and joystick on the front, and the fact that you can use the keys and still see the whole display - that makes it MUCH better for playing games on.

The P800 is sold as a mix between a mobile phone and a PDA.
I like most aspects of the phone part (there are still some areas who could be improved), but I'm not satisfied with the PDA part at all.
The software for the PDA user would get a 3 out of 10 possible points if you campare the programs with an other "real" PDA.
The hardware (tri-band, display, most of the important standards supported, quality) is fine - except the camera. The camera has the quality of a $10 toy (I'm not talking about the resolution, but about the poor plastic lens with heavy optical problems, the white balance, the contrast, the color quality...).
The Sony memory sticks (Duo) are very expensive compared to other storage media (CF - 512MB Ultra = $110, a duo memory stick with only 64MB is $90 at the moment) and no memory > 64MB is available at the moment.

I would say the P800 will come of age,

* firstly as new firmware updates are released,
* 2nd as more software (that fix the shortcomings eg Opera browser, filemanagers, MS Office editors, video capture, predictive text etc) are released and obtainable more cheaply,
* 3rd as higher capacity memory stick duos are released
* and 4th, the next version (call it P820 or something) with a better camera comes along.

I'd say that P800 is a very well designed phone, with 3 different aspects:

- A very good GSM phone - nice sound and good signal;
- A good PDA phone, with an excelent screen and a good system beneath;
- A poor camera (despite that is the best in the market these days...).

I bought mine 1 week ago and there's only one thing that i'm disapointed: the bug that somethimes crack the communicam - i have to turn off the phone now and then... :x

Id give 9/10 because the software could be better... and the (minor) problem with comminicam. The rest... there's nothing even close in the market. A very good fusion with Phone/PDA/camera.

lets us not forget that the 9210 doesn't support gprs or bluetooth... something which a lot of people in this market segment have accepted as the norm.

I know for a fact that I wouldn't consider the 9210 simply because of that.

The camera can and most probably will be improved in a firmware update(UIQ 2.1?).

The hardware side of the cam is, afaik, the same as on the N3650, and we all know the N3650 and even the N7650 takes better quality pics, especially in some conditions(low light).

However, when that is said, I really couldn't care less about the cam, that is certainly not the reason I bought the P800. Actually I would prefer it not to have a built-in cam as that would "slimmen" it up a bit.
