Why does my message alert tone sound when I send a message as well as when I receive

I've set a message alert tone so I know when I've receieved a message, but it also sounds when I send a message. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

It may be connected to the information screen that tells me my balance everytime I send a message, but I don't know how to disable this either?

Any help would be great!

I'm not sure which Symbian build I have, so sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm using a Nokia X2-00.

The X2-00 is not a Symbian based phone at all; it is based on Series 40, and Nokia proprietary operating system.

Anyway, I don't know Series 40 phones so well, so I don't know if the tone can be turned off for just sending. Check the phone's User Guide.
