For you music heads out there - Loop

Im attending a Loop Workshop day at Sarm Studios this week for the new Nokia Loop app.

Basically, its a 'become a bedroom DJ part 1' sort of thing 😉 Just start creating your own tunes on the fly... sample what ever you want and mix it up...

Little bit more info here at www.loopapp.net

My first go was absolutely shocking, so I'll not share it here but its safe to say loud crowds shouting doesnt actually do your track my favour 😉

Current users are adding the loops to soundcloud, but let me know how you find it if you have a play

i did a really silly loop with this app for a ringtone.
not particularly intuitive and not particularly flexible software. don't see it appealing to serious musicians or aspiring producers.

fail to see why anyone would spend an idiotic amount of money booking SARM studios to pimp this software.

yeah, it does seem somewhat limited in what you can create... nothing longer than 2 mins for sure as it just 'loops'

I guess I'll find out if there is something Ive missed soon...

You uploaded your ringtone?

no way! it's basically me screaming my name over a dubstep loop a la N-Dubz. just a p*ss take really...

Hi

With this app, can you record, delete and merge tracks all whilst the currently recorded tracks are playing/looping? Or do you have to pause/stop playback to delete or merge tracks?

If these actions could be performed seamlessly during playback, I can see this app being suitable for use as a live instrument, as well as for composing short loops.

Fair enough.... as an example of the kinda thing I'm talking about tho:

Not my cup of tea exactly, but pretty impressive and shows what can be done with a simple looper.
