Nokia N8 "bubbles" keylock

Just downloaded this from the beta lab site and its fantastic. its like getting a new firmware update and it gives an early glimpse of things to come. (hopefully!)

The way the clock rotates, the speed and the font(s) used really are far better IMHO then anything in the main UI.

When you select your contacts you get this lovely large font style appear and its scrolls through your list like knife through butter, silky smooth!

You also get a QT viewer file stored on the phone. I am not 100% sure what this is for but again the aesthetics and the speed and font style are lovely....more of this please throughout the whole UI !

agreed, its really nice.

The 1 other thing I'd like it to do would be to override the side lock switch and to be customisable for the core bubbles.

Either way, its grand.

Yeah could be an option. Maybe they did it that way so you could still get immediate access quickly.

can't get it to install on my n8, says its installing, then i restart phone and no sign of app anywhere. tried c ane e drive

This is EASILY one of the best software innovations to happen in the past 18-24 months. Fresh, Lovely looking UI.

Think this is a nice little previous of what S^4 can/will deliver to the users. Cannot believe how good this is and in some ways, dont mind it being the CORE UI (as opposed to just unlock).

Wow.. Praise the Nokia God!

Yellowcan: There is no icon that appears (other than QT one). However, you can test this by locking your phone and pressing the menu button. Instead of the normal clock, this should come up.

no sign of it anywhere. maybe i need to reinstall qt or something? any ideas anyone? also no sign of ovi or social updates

It doesn't show up as a program. You just send the phone into standby and its there.though it looks nice, I want to uninstall it as it's a bit slower to use than the standard unlock, but it's nice to look at.

Did you reboot after installing? Plus it only comes up after you unlock via the menu key, it doesn't work on the side lock key, presumably to still retain a fast un- lock option.

I'm quite impressed with Nokia Bubbles. It gives me immediate access to very common "quick" settings, that ordinarily take many more keypresses.

While I won't use all of them, I'll certainly use the Profile, Music and Maps Bubbles. Yes, it's an early beta, but the functionality is there right now for what I want.

😊
