N8 PR1.1 update is here... — Symbian^3 phones (N8, C7, C6-01, E7-00)

Well the PR1.1 update is here for my generic, UK, N8.

I tried downloading it last night and this morning as it was showing as available for me OTA.

It downloaded the update and attempted to install it but upon reboot it flashed me a message saying, something like, that it was unable to install and I should refer to my operator?

Just downloaded and installed it via Ovi Suite.

Sure enough, there are 3 games with it and a new Quick Office... big deal!

The phone is still as embarassingly slow and as laggy as it ever was I'm afraid.

My opinion of the N8 has not changed one iota since my first review here:-

I'm afraid that it languishes on my desk at home. Consigned to being my back-up phone. :frown:

Dunno.. I still dont have 1.1 update yet.. still waiting..

Not really that slow for me.. the only "slow" part is if the shortcuts are not initially cached (after a reboot) and that the exit key for some apps is laggy (and consequent presses become a "Call" button).

Quick Office update will save everyone 10 bucks instead of buying the full thing.. haha

As of 15:00 today Ovi Suite was saying "no updates available", however *#0000# gave me the OTA PR1.1 update for my UK Vodafone N8. Installation went smoothly.

I am surprised that Vodafone got it out so quickly.
