Hi folks,
i have one question concerning the video capability of the phone. Is it possible to watch whole movies (>90 min) on the phone ? How big would such a file be ? Anyone tried this ?? How is the quality of the movie/sound ??

It certainly is possible technically, but a full feature length movie would at a resolution suitable for the 3650 still require probably close to 100MB of memory (which means you need a 128MB MMC card where to store it).
Also, albeit there exist a number of video players for the device, AFAIK, none of them can display the videos in landscape mode (90 degrees turn) and use the complete screen real-estate.
Note also that the device does not have stereo sound.
JUST a 100mb for a movie is good... it would be good if some1 tried it out. also wot format would u suggest and how would we even compress it adn how wold we get it across
Someone on the temporarily disabled www.nokia3650.net
forums had put the entire 'Ice Age' film onto his/her 3650 MMC.
Also this person provided a link for others to download it. The format
was either *.mp4 or *.rm (realone video format), can't remember which
Either way it IS possible to put an entire film on the 3650 ! I only have a
6 minute cartoon on my MMC.. this takes up 4.2MB in *.nim format(an
old Nokia video format that is also supported). A bit of simple maths
suggests that 100MB should fit a 2 hour movie.
regards.
i got ali g on my phone
its the suggested settings except its 15 fps instead of 10fps. this was only 49 megs! however it was a widescreen movie so resolution is 176X96. Great picture quality though not too good sound quality (whether or not whether this is just because the original copy i have is bad i don't know).
^ LOL - i was going to mention that u were a walking example of it.
can u please elaborate on ur details for what u set it at? is it realvideo or mpeg4?
(take that out.. go here if u wanna c)

Not only possible, but easy. I use RM settings, and my futurama episodes are at 13 megs a pop, beautiful quality. Full lenght movies such as Shrek are weighing in at about 50 meg a pop in RM format. I haven't tried any other video players, as I am really pleased with the RM quality/size ratio.
ok so say i got an star trek episode on MPEG or nething... how would i go about gettin it into RM format and then onto my phone?
