I have just bought an E7 replacing my 4 year old E90. My E90 has escaped my pockets several times, at least 10 times, half of them ending on concrete in the garage. Besides som scrathes, still working, with no glass breakage.
I wonder what will happen to the E7 when it slides out.
But then I looked at the hinge mechanism of the screen, wich I think will make the screen less likely to brake than the N8 or most other smartphones.
The reason for this is that the screen is suspended by the linkage, if it fall down on one of the edges, the screen will be alowed a little movement relative to the keybord part of the phone. On a N8 all energy from tha fall will be directed directly to the screen, wich will break I guess. Has anybody tried this? Or any opinions on the subject?
E7. Will the glass break?
Did you see the N8 "tumble test" video on Youtube? I believe Nokia will have done the same thing with the E7 as well so I doubt you'll be suffering any screen breakages.
