Since getting N8, some of my calls were dropped suddenly. Upon closer look, the network is not to blame, coverage is consistent - I think the proximity sensor is too sensitive, switch screen on too easily, which ends the call.
Have not taken the screen protector off, so that could be another cause. Does anyone have similar experience?

Yes my wife had the same problem. Turn out that it is the proximity sensor position. Or rather the way one holds the phone to the ear. Note that the microphone at the bottom of the screen is not to the centre. So actually for good conversation, one should tilt the phone further upwards (using the screen upper as fulcrum) so that the microphone is nearer to the mouth. That way the proximity sensor will be fully covered by the ear and not allow accident touch by the face to drop calls.
The other way is that the ear hole can go the corner of the proximity sensor (the speaker will still be within the ear coverage and clear) and the microphone will be further front.
After these adjustments, the drop calls went away.
