Well, typical Friday night, smashed out of my brain, had to stop the taxi and got sick on the pavement - the usual stuff.
When I got out of the cab, my p800 slipped out of my jacket's pocket and dropped on the tar road. I was too drunk to worry about it, just picked it up and stumbled home.
I got up Saturday morning and realised what I have done! Grabbed my p800 and it's not working. Then I remembered that I switched it off when we got to the club, switched it on and voila! it was still working, like nothing has happened.
The only reminder/s is a dent on the top of the phone, the flip and the back - bastard!

I lost two styluses when being in this general mode...
I can't reiterate it enough... NEVER try to edit your next day events when drunk and on your way home in a cab or subway...
I was sitting on the toilet last thing setting my alarm for next morning, when the phone slipped from my hand into the toilet! horror, i leap up and plunge my hand into the pan and retrieve my phone.
i strip it down and dry it off as best possible then place it on top of my boiler and go to bed.
next day phone is completely fine.
ten days later phone is still absolutely fine.
truly a James Bond phone!
Most phones nowadays are like that.....anyways...how does your P800 smell now? 😃
When I ran to catch a cab Saturday night my P800 fell out of my pocket.. I was running as fast as I can and (fast enough) and it fell right into the tarmac. The battery fell out and the stylus too. There is a small scratch mark at the top corner, but it works just fine. (thank you god!)
Now lets see you try doing that with a Nokia fone 😊
I did try it with a Nokia, a 7650, only worse, drove a pickup truck over it!! Not a blemish, sweet.
Trying to get a mate in the gulf to stick his 7650 under a Challenger 2 to see what happens, strangely can't get hold of him at the mo.
😃 😃 😃
Droped mine, battery flew but it was a wooden floor and also I see an indent in the wood, the phone is clean.
Let's all call Sadam and force him to bring his toilet bowl smelly phone to his cheek. 😃 😃
I wonder if it's still the same colour.
😮
Someone mentioned a Nokia phone.. Hmm, now that brings back a lot of memories!!
Same old problem, the battery starts to get loose at the back and Mr Nokia starts to switch himself off when he feels like it. It happened to my 7110 and pissed me off big time - mind you, that was also when I realised that I love a phone with a big screen! Also, do not enter text too fast on any Nokia (except for mr battery-drain communicator), which also results in a Nokia giving you two fingers. All known Nokia problems that has never been fixed, to my knowledge.
I think the P800 must be the best mobile I've ever owned and I don't think there is another phone on our planet that can compare with it at the moment. Well, at least for the next few months, that is.
Looking at Nokia's roadmap, I just can't get excited about ANY of their phones - and I've been a Nokia fan since 1994!
eDoom rocks on my P800, but I'm getting worried about my Jog Dial, don't think it will last much longer if I play eDoom on it every day!! What about a little joypad, SE?
I agree with you kingrob. This is my first non Nokia fone since 1995. And this fone really rocks! Talk about innovation! Nokia comes with so many models but if you look at it, they all look similar with ovrlapping features
One thing I have not done to my P800 yet is drop it (thank God! 😃 ) I mean all the other phones I had, had their shared off bruises and bumps right after I bought them. I thnk its because they were all very small(nokia) and they easily slip off my hands, or when I put them on my lap while driving I tend t o forget about them and when I stand up off they go flyinh out the door 😃 THe P800 is just the right size since I always notice it and when Im holding it I always get a good grip 😊
