So today I take the Plunge
yes... for the money... the hardware is a bit old spec...
But the Keyboard and Screen are just amazing. I want a BIG PHONE, with a BIG KEYBOARD. I miss my old sidekick keyboard & the new sidekick is lacking.
The Beauty of the E7 and the huge QWETY Keyboard and 4" screen are just amazing. Everyone seems down on the "fixed focus" camera, but I have a SLR for quality shots, and I am sure for day to day fun photos (same I have taken with my N900) the E7 camera will provide just what I need.
I am hoping Symbian does not dissapoint that much... there has been a lot of mixed press... I am coming from maemo & the danger OS before that. PR 2.0 looks very fresh and nice, and the upcoming Symbian updates planned ahead looks even nicer.
So about to throw out my $679 USA... wish me luck everyone 😃
I was tempted to wait for the E7 but the N8's camera swung it for me. I really would have liked the physical keyboard and 4" CBD screen.
Bought my N8 just after PR1.1 was released and I have no complaints.
Keep us posted re E7 camera 😊
(Hope my post makes sense, I'm in Cork and it's St. Patricks Day tomorrow and I've been forced to drink five pints of Carlsberg...so far).

1. You're in Cork, on the eve of St Patrick's Day, drinking Carlsberg lager!!! What's wrong with Guinness?
2. I'm surprised that you have any fellow Irishmen to drink with as they all seem to be in my neck of the woods for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Today is St. Pat's and it's a bank holiday in Ireland. Most people here will be back at work on Friday so they had their big drinking session last night to sleep off today. No doubt they'll all be back out again tonight though.
In my dept there are eleven people, eight have iPhones, two (including me) have N8s, one has an old Android (he's a new starter so he'll prolly get an iPhone soon). The other N8 owner got his for free after his N96 packed up with one week of his two-year warranty remaining.
Every day I make a point of winding up the iPhone owners with their behind-the-curve devices :reddy:
