What bluetooth USB adapters and drivers work well with the P800?
I've a bluetake and the only thing it takes is the pi$$
My phone is R1, Orange network and my home PC is XP SP1
What's with the microsoft bluetooth drivers ? are they any good ? why can't I download them from windowsupdate.microsoft.com ?
If the range of the bluetooth in the phone is 10m and I buy an BT reciever / transmitter with a range of a 100m, what is the distance I can expect them to connect ? 10m or 100m ?
Thanks !
most work but the com port is flaky.. but it *does* work. Do a search for results on specific models.
Microsoft don't really have bluetooth drivers, you won't find them at windowsupdate. They will come with the card you purchase.
10m is as far as the p800 will ever work with bluetooth.
Microsoft do have bluetooth drivers:

(That may be an out of date link now)
The drivers don't support many bluetooth profiles, so they aren't much use for smartphones.
A lot of people seem to be using the widcomm drivers which are downloadable and seem to work with lots of different bluetooth dongles. Have a wonder over to www.esato.com and take a look in the technical forum for bluetooth driver advice.
I bought the TDK 'go blue' PC adaptor and it works pretty well
Anyone know if there are plans to sell some kind of bluetooth booster for the P800? 10m range sucks ass.
I use the TDK USB Bluetooth adapter. It worked just fine but with the new release of the software (1.3.2.19 -- downloadable from the TDK Systems web site) it's even better!
Their software now includes a "P800 Assistant" which will:
pair the phone,
configure the SE PC Suite to work over bluetooth,
send a file or application to the phone,
open the local image folder.
All works a treat. If you follow the bluetooth newsgroup (alt.cellular.bluetooth) it seems that one of the developers of the TDK software has now got a P800 and is creating other stuff too.
