Does anyone know of any good homescreen widgets for the N97/S60v5 which can display London stock market share prices? also any good websites which supply rss share price data
I'll looking for a widget on my N97 which can display more than 1 stock price in a widget panel, where i can set the widget to refresh the companies' share prices every 15 to 30mins
eg a widget showing something like this...
YELL.L 7.15p at 14:15
BARC.L 290.5p at 14:15
HMV.L 15.7p at 14:15
i'm happy with 15min delayed prices or better still real time prices
I have tried quoterss.com which allows only 1 stock to be set up as a rss text feed which can display through one of the N97's homescreen widget panels, but there is such a waste of space, there is certainly room on the widget panel to display 2 or 3 stocks, or better still have a horizontal scrolling banner showing a �portfolio� of stock prices
any help/tips would be very welcomed
Don't follow stocks/shares so my advice is going to be a bit hit-n-miss:
Find a website that provides rss feeds to prices then use yahoo pipes to stream them into a single rss which you can then subscribe to using the N97's built-in RSS reader and a single widget.
That's what I do for all my Nokia and Comics feeds.
Oh! Hang on! I just loaded up the Yahoo Pipes page to grab a screen shot of one of my pipes and the start page showed a featured pipe for stocks.

It looks like you type in the short codes delimited by commas then click 'Get as RSS' to provide the rss URL which you add to your phone.
Only two prices fit per widget but you can set up multiple pipes for multiple widgets. I've attached a screen grab of my testing results.

P.S. Sorry about the mistake on my example in the screen grab, I entered APPL for Apple instead of AAPL, that's why the price is showing $0.00. Btw, tapping on the widget loads up more detail, see second screen grab.

the rss feeds were working through the widget fine for a few days, but unfortunately i have encountered the dreaded "unknown error" bug with the web browser feeds and now cannot get any rss feeds through the homescreen widgets. i'm back to using opera/web for shareprices.
"Free memory bars" and ovi store "highlight" apps now also do not refresh through my homescreen widgets 😞 i guess it will also affect facebook (which i do not use) and the Favourite Contacts widget do not display photos anymore
Searching the net the only potential solution i cam across was to do a hard reset and clean install (not restore) of apps, and then do not set up more than one or two feeds, i'm going to hold out longer before hard resetting as i have so many apps to reinstall.
Does anyone know of another solution which does not involve hard resetting?
