foursquare "Login failed - Error: Connection error"

Today my foursquare app stopped working.

I'm presented with the login screen but my correct username and password just gives the message:

This has happened on my home wifi, outside 3G and work wifi. I've also checked that all other network-using apps are working on these connections.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the foursquare app, twice. I've also changed the password.

Any suggestions?

foursquare is forcing all connections to use https, starting today.

I have no problems using the 4square feature on Gravity, so no, I don't have any specific solutions. Sorry. You'll probably need to poke them and ask for an upgrade.
