Revisiting this:
2 available apps (that i'm aware of) are available for custom SMS tones

Annoyances
- Custom sms tone can be set, but when sms comes in, Conversations will show an empty bubble. You have to click on the bubble to open it in the sms inbox view to see the contents
- Custom contact tone volume does not follow profile volume (VERY ANNOYING)
- Conflicts with WhatsApp when using custom WhatsApp tone

Is it something with S^3 that messes up what the devs can do with the apps? Both apps do not follow the default profile volume, which i think is very dumb.
I want my sms tone to be loud when i'm in my General profile, and soft when i'm in my Home/work profile. Is it too much to ask?
All these issues were non-issues when i was using the N97, or N95. Why now, what's so screwed up about S^3?
Both developers are almost not willing to help with giving updates or timelines if their applications will be updated. I love Symbian, and aSMS has been a default app which i install each time i get the new phone, but it's just not working out on the N8 (or S^3).
