Nokia N8 What is the hole on the back of the N8? — Symbian^3 phones (N8, C7, C6-01, E7-00)

I'm talking on the back at the bottom and not the one next to the camera which I believe is the mic.

thanks lol, i thought it might be some sort of rear mic, the otterbox covered it so i thought it might be a problem.

It is one of the microphones responsible for recording video. Believe it is used in conjunction with the regular microphone as well (to get stereo sound recording) - so covering up the hole will dull the sounds substantially when recording.

What??? so it is a mic? can anyone else confirm please?

edit: bchliu its not the mic I looked at some pictures of the N8 and it is a lanyard hole as the hole for the lanyard to come out is on the bottom too. I would check my device but I don't want to remove the case now that the otterbox is on.

the hole on the back on the bottom is for the lanyard/wrist strap. The hole on the front at the bottom is the microphone hole.

I thought you were referring to the hole next to the camera there.. usually cases cover up this hole without knowing and it is a mic..
