Alas after about 6 months of getting used to my N8 its gone off to be repaired at Nokia.
I'd got used to the decent camera, just got the Satnav preferences right, loaded it with videos and music and had my emails all sorted.
Then it went.....big style.
Whilst sat on the train, browsing the web, listening to music, it froze. then half rebooted. Kinda came up but was slow, so I powered it off with the 8 sec button press........that was the last thing it responded to. Three vibes to say it was turning off. and then nothing.
Wouldnt charge, wouldnt turn on. Left for 24 hours and tried to power on ....nothing. Tried to charge it ...not even a charge light. In a word... bricked.
Now I dont load a ton of dodgy software but I do make it work, but nothing that should have caused this.
I had a lot of pics & movies, on the storage area, I had 3 email accounts one exchange ( not google...lol )
Its a pain, as I was really enjoying the phone, and now I'm suffering withdrawal!! :icon4:
Thats not to mention the camera shots and vids I've lost.
I'm now running off an old HTC while its away being fixed....I suppose my biggest annoyance is the repair timeframe.
This is a fault not caused by it gettting soaked or dropped or ropy software being loaded. This was a genuine fault with the phone being used as it was designed. And to have to wait 28 days for it to be fixed- thats annoying. 😡
but I think carphone warehouse are pulling a fast one.
I was told they couldnt fix it locally and it had been sent to nokia for repair.
When I picked it up I was told it had been replaced, but it still had my screen protector on it.
The IMEI has changed from my original one, and although the original fault was fixed, now the GPS wont work.
I have now arranged for this to be fixed directly with Nokia instead of CPW as it is under warranty - with hindsight, should have done this first.
Had a simular experiance. I was checking the GP qualifying on my N8 when it just tured off and it bricked. Not even the charging light went on when I plugged it in. I was also told that mine could not be fixed, My phone was definately replaced as I had chinese one and now I got a Finnish one.
