Backing up everything?

Q. How can I back up everything on my Symbian smartphone? Not just data, but every application, every license key, and so on?

A. There isn't a way of doing this, curiously. The PC Sute and memory card backup routes back up almost everything, but files buried in the operating system folders (such as native C++ Symbian applications) on disk C: and some license keys and assignments aren't covered. All the more reason to keep copies of these in a folder on your desktop?
