How to select non-contiguous items

Q. How can I select multiple items that aren't next to each other in my smartphone's Gallery?
A. As you know, multiple items can normally be selected by holding down the 'Edit' key and 'dragging' down a range. But if the items aren't next to each other in a list, move to each and then hold down 'Edit' while pressing in 'OK' (i.e. the navigator). Repeat as needed, though make sure you release the 'Edit' key before scrolling down to the next entry.
