Install problems on restarting device
Applications, Troubleshooting S60 3rd Edition
Q. Whenever I start my smartphone, it pops up 'Installing....' and then gives an error saying that 'Untrusted applications' were on my memory card and couldn't be installed. The only suspicious entries in 'Tools | App Mgr' are marked as 'Not installed'. How can I stop the error happening?
A. To get rid of this error, follow these steps:
- In App Mgr, make a note of the numeric name for the suspicious entries, e.g. 100200F4
- Connect your USB cable and choose 'Mass storage/Data transfer' mode
- Wait a few seconds while Windows discovers the new 'disk' and mounts it
- Look in the \private folder on the disk and delete entries with the same name as the suspicious entries
- Disconnect and put the card back in your smartphone. You should find the entries have gone from App Mgr and that the pop-up error has also gone when you next restart!
