Kilometres to Miles

Q. I'm generally quite happy with Ovi Maps on my new Nokia N97 mini – I downloaded the new v3.0 and it's proved superbly reliable. But I'm not happy with all the distances being in metric. I know Finland wouldn't know their inches from their miles, but is there any hope?

A. Somewhat surprisingly, yes! In Ovi Maps:

  1. Go into 'Options > Tools > Settings'.
  2. You'll see a textual list (rather than a group of tabs). Tap on 'Map'.
  3. Go to the last setting in the dialog.
  4. Change 'System of measurement' to 'Imperial'
  5. Go 'Back' a couple of times.

You should find that Ovi Maps now talks to you in terms of miles and yards!
