Screensavers and battery life

Q. What's happened to the battery life of my S60 smartphone? From going a couple of days easily without recharge, I'm down to a full charge every morning! All I've installed recently are Handy Weather and Smart2go!
A. The clue is with Handy Weather - we bet you've been using the optional screensaver module. This pops up a larger clock and summary of the forecast for the coming days but has the unfortunate side effect, as all 3rd party screensavers have, of hammering the processor slightly, all the while the device is 'idle'. Go into Themes/Personalise and restore the screensaver to one of the Nokia originals and you should find your battery life back to normal.
