What else is needed when i buy a new MMC for my 9210

i'm planning on getting a newer / bigger MMC card and i was wondering if i needed anything else...do i need to format it first? Do i need to install system files on it first?

Can i just have data and program files on my mmc card?

I got my phone with c and d: drives having the same contents...so i figure i could save a lot of space by not having the system files on my mmc card (word/sheet/os/etc)...

Depends from person to person...I have installed on my 9210i (c:rom) only the sales package software (all_nokia_9210i_data_sis), and on my mmc (I use a nokia 64mb) I've installed all the extra software and I've created my agenda and contacts database. If I remember well when I've bought my new mmc I didn't format it because it was empty... ...anyway it's not a problem if u do so....

Let me know... 😉

Also if you buy a bigger MMC you might want to buy a card reader as well. You can move everything using the serial and PC Suite, but if the card is bigger, the slowness starts to bug. And I've read many stories about problems in getting everything to work (phone recognizing the card or something) and often the thing that has saved it all has been the reader. I did not have any problems in changing cards, but it's always good to have alternative ways to go about if you end up in trouble. 😊

err i dunno, didn't bother asking...but i'm assuming it does 😛

Most MMC came with a 1 year warranty...
😉 mine is a 128MB KINGSTON with 5 years warranty...
😉 I also have a 64MB APACER with 3 years warranty...

its important to have warranty as MMC is easily corrupted if u have lotsa stuff to install/uninstall on it...

5 years is a lot!

Erm....I found someone importing 256mb from Japan for 75....anyone know if the phone will address the memory or will I just be wasting my money.

I could get 2 128mb MMC's from Expansys for around the same price anyway, although it would be nice to have it in 1 card.
