Anna update reported by phone but not available in ovi suite

N8 bought direct from Nokia, product code 059C5Q5. Current firmware 014.002.

Menu->Applications->SW update reports 'N8-00 Device software'. Info reports that it's version 022.014 but tapping install returns the message:

To update your phone via PC, go to www.nokia.com/softwareupdate

I do this and it's basically saying use Ovi Suite to update.

However, Ovi suite tells me that the only updates available for my phone are Galaxy on Fire, Golf and Need for Speed.

Not only that but the same is happening with my C6-01, except Ovi Suite reports that the only updates available are Here and Now, DAB Radio and Themes:Midnight.

How come both phones know that Anna is available but Ovi Suite doesn't?

wtf?

firstly you need to update your Ovi suite software. Then check for N8 updates and it tells you that a new OS is available. Click on update and it takes about 20 minutes to install. Then you need to install Anna updates 1 & 2 and this takes about another 20 minutes and then your good to go.

Web browsing much better, QWERTY keyboard in portrait (although you need to enable in options) and lots of other fixes that make it better and faster.

Must have as far as I'm concerned!

Happy chappy

😃

I believe that my Ovi Suite is already the latest version, v3.1.1.85, but it still isn't showing the Anna update for either phone :con?

Thanks, yellowcan, that worked for me!

C7(3UK) reporting an upgrade but Ovi Suite saying service unavailable or no updates. Tried Software Updater and it went through in about 20 mins. A couple more OTA updates after that, but I now have Anna!

I used the software updater from beta lab and it worked fine - ovi suite does recognise the device is updated afterwards.
