Okay, I got my Astound from T-Mobile early in April when the phone was released. Since then, I've installed a lot of software; some from the Ovi Store, some from .sis files from Nokia Developer/Nokia Beta Labs.
A few weeks ago, I tried installing the updated version of fMobi (man, it's great!), but installation hangs at "preparing installation" (N.B. this is AFTER an installation completes. This is probably important information, maybe a dependency is hanging?)
Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope I gave enough information for you all to help me!
Am I missing information which might help you answer the question?
I'm fairly sure that my local T-Mobile store will not be able to help at all.
If you don't know how to help, where can I look?
I also have a C7. Don't know if this helps. I'm also using fMobi (great app) and had a problem installing the official Ovi version. It kept saying failed installation and backing out.
I uninstalled the beta version, and then tried again and it went through OK.

The issue was independent of fmobi... Installation failed regardless of what was being installed.
I visited the tmobile store earlier today and the great employee there (who doesn't seem to know much Symbian, but was really dedicated to helping me fix the problem) found the hold menu+camera+volume down then power.
That cleared C: and I can now install things again!
