hi i wanted to know if there was ne way to remove the screensaver option from the phone since its takin up the batt. on my phone. its ok wit me if i have no screensaver. ne app. do that as yet ?

HI!...

i made a solution a long time ago that i am using yet...

You can install the Screen Saver App (from Psiloc) and then you can select Animation like screen saver, that use a gif for screen saver..

So... i made a 1 x 1 pixels null GIF (blank), and assign that to Animation image... and put Sleep Mode OFF..

In that way you will have a total OFF screen (Like a phone off screen) after a minute... 😃

work for me and i am saving some nice battery 😉

i think this is the only way to not see the default screen saver...

HI!...

HEHE! Thanks 3ddy ... 😃

well.. i don't really can say how much battery you save with that trick...

but i am sure that every single graphic on the screen will use battery..
and darker colors use more battery.. like the bar that is used to put the Date and Time...

So.. if you wanna make sure that you are saving all the battery you can...
well.. make it totally clear, no graphics at all, 😃

After testing the "trick" AEFOX has mentioned I've noticed that on my phone it has the opposite effect. The battery duration using AEFOX's trick dropped to 24 hours while on the same use of the phone the battery lasts more than 36 hours. The only excuse for the excess battery draining would be the extra cpu and memory usage from psiloc's screensaver.

Never tried it,but its quite logical, you have one more app runing in the background besides the ones that have to run.
does the time and date screen saver really take up that much battery?
I don't think so, I use it and get more than 36hrs on a battery. With screensaver from Psiloc, even with AEFOX method, never more than 24hrs.

Well if AEFOX is going on the idea that the least amount of pixels displayed by the screensaver the better the battery save, then why not use a text string with the in built screensaver which uses the most pixels, so that when it is inverted lees pixels used. Use a character like #, @ or *.
Lets see how that works.
after upgrading to version 4.39 all my battery problems seem to have faded away.hmmm....
It definately helped, but I use the phone a lot and the maximum I get is 48hrs. more likely 36hrs though

MEMPHISX ...

i don't know what is more hard for the battery...

The CPU usage of Psiloc ScreenSaver?

or

The Screen Showing that black bar with the date and hour characters?

i think that the Bar on the Screen use more battery than Screen Saver CPU... because in only a gif puted on the screen (not animated) so is not complex process at all... a few instructions code for that, few clock cycles for the CPU... nothing really relevant.

may be we have to test on same conditions... same firmware, same battery age (time of use), etc.
